Huge competition in the second edition of TENSS (Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School)

The Center for Cognitive and Neural Studies (Coneural), Romanian Institute for Science and Technology in Cluj-Napoca, organizes the second edition of the “Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School” (, at Pike Lake, Cluj County, Romania.

The summer school is a top-level training centre in the field of brain research, and has invited lecturers from the most renowned labs around the world, such as Harvard, University College London, Max Planck Institutes, University of California Los Angeles, King’s College London, Cold Spring Harbor, and so on.

A number of 12 places are available for students who will benefit from intensive training during the summer school. After launching the call for applications, the school received 156 applications for the 12 places, originating from 37 countries across 6 continents.

The summer school is financially supported by sponsors, such as the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding, the FENS-IBRO European Neuroscience Schools Programme, the Hertie Foundation from Germany, and other private sponsors.
