Recognition at scientific events
The priority of Gheorghe Benga in the discovery of the first water channel protein from the human red blood cell membrane a few years before Peter Agre and the regretable mistake of Gheorghe Benga's omission from the group of 2003 Nobel laureates in Chemistry was acknowledged at several scientific events:
